From the beginning, the Church has recognized the sacredness of the household and has called the family home the Domestic Church. The domestic church does not replace our parish community but enhances it. By virtue of our baptism, we are called to be priest, prophet, and king. As priests, we are called to santify and make holy our household. As prophet, we are called to speak the truth and live in the truth. As king, we are called to maintain order, discipline and virtue. The house is also the primary school. ALL members of the household are called to be teachers and students. We are to teach others through examples of Christian charity and love. We are also called to continue learning more aboout our faith and deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ.
During the month of September, each family is called to celebrate a 5 week series of liturgies in their homes to consecreate their own Domestic Church. You are invited to consecrate your home. Liturgies are found below.
